Scenario
A retired CIA agent is pursued by both the agency he once worked for and his own nightmares when an unknown man suddenly visits him after almost three decades. At the time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed with and subsequently treated for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Appeared at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024)
After his recovery, the series returned to production. Bridges referred to the return as coming back after a «long weekend» in a podcast in July 2022.
The first two episodes are excellent
The cast on the show so far is excellent The acting style is very well done by seasoned professionals Jeff Bridges is fantastic in The Old Man, as is John Lithgow. Amy Frederica Brenneman was just what this show needed; the aura of mystery in her character Amy brings her just as she did in HBO’s The Leftovers.
The Old Man has an incredibly intelligent script that is carried by the talent of The Ensemble
Her sense of vulnerability plays so well with Jeff Bridges, even when Jeff wants to get out of the «dodge» he is drawn to Zoe McDonald, Amy’s character, there is real chemistry when these two actors play off each other. This thriller is heading in some intriguing directions, I am very interested to see where this series goes!
This is excellent network television
I can’t wait for the next episode! Premiere episodes 8/10.
