Scenario
It follows Elphaba, the would-be Wicked Witch of the West, and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. It is the second part of a two-part feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Wicked was first announced in April 2022 that it would be split into two films, with composer Stephen Schwartz explaining: «The truth is, for a while we were trying to make a movie (that) required us to cut or leave out things that we wanted to include and that we thought fans of the show and the story would appreciate.» He added: «We found it very difficult to get past ‘Defying Gravity’ without a break. That song was written specifically to bring the curtain down, and any scene that we could follow without a break would have felt extremely anticlimactic.».
