This series uses material from the Great Schools of Dune trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J

A prequel to the original Dune, it tells the story of how the Sisterhood of Rossak evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident in which Valya Harkonnen used her voice comes from a film called Mentats of Dune. All three books intertwine the evolution of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk doctors.
The quality was fine
I find it pretty silly how many people complain about this show after it had a decent pilot. I would give the first episode a 7.6. It wasn’t a masterpiece, but it definitely wasn’t as crappy as so many of these stupid reviewers claim.
NO, it’s not like Sex in the City
And YES, the entire mission of the Benne Ghesserit is about manipulating bloodlines within politics. That’s clear from both the movies and the books, so what are you giving 1-5 stars? Let’s get a few more episodes out first, damn it!
Stop rating the series so extremely after just one episode
