The first episode was better than the preview
It’s a quiet and lonely show because (almost!) everyone except the main character has died in the pandemic, but it uses that silence to ask valuable existential questions about loneliness, whether you should try to live if your loved ones are all dead, hope, and how to move forward. There’s a famous book with this name/theme and we’ll see how this series complements and parallels the novel.
The first episode is good enough to watch more
It has the sense of desolation and despair of The Walking Dead, but without the zombies, and instead the personal struggle of living in a vastly changed world. «One Hundred Years of Solitude» is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
